Is the event in-person this year?
This year the Foundation is reimagining the event as a Virtual Health Fair and 5k Walk/Run to engage and educate our audience while adhering to DC’s health and safety recommendations on large gatherings. 

What is the date of the event?
The event will begin on November 1, 2020 and end on November 8, 2020. 

How do I register?
Click on the green "Register Now" button on the event website, preventcancer5k.org. Then follow the prompts to create your account.

How much does it cost?
Adult (18+) - $25.00
Youth (17 and Under) - $15.00

*Use the discount code EARLYBIRD at checkout by September 30 to save $5 off your registration.*

I attended last year, do I need to create a new account?
No. If you attended the event last year you can login using the account credentials you created last year. If you don't remember your password click on the "Forgot Password" button and follow the prompts to reset your account. 

How do I create a team?
Click on the green "Register Now" button on the event website, preventcancer5k.org. Then follow the prompts to create your account. You will then select "Create a Team" and follow the prompts to create your team. 

How do I find/join a team?
Click on the green "Register Now" button on the event website, preventcancer5k.org. Then follow the prompts to create your account. You will then select "Join a Team" and search for the team name that you would like to join. 

Will I get a t-shirt?
Participants will have the option to receive a 2020 event t-shirt, at no additional cost, in their preferred size! Participants will receive an email after they register with a one-time use code to redeem their shirt. Redeem your shirt by October 1 to guarantee delivery by November 1. All 2020 event t-shirts must be redeemed by the final deadline of October 19. *T-shirts available for U.S. participants only. 

What if I redeemed my t-shirt by October 19th and it has not arrived?
Participants who ordered their shirts by October 1st should have already received their shirts. If you have not please contact [email protected] For those who ordered between October 2nd and October 19th those shirts will be shipping during event week and you will receive a FedEx tracking email once the shirt has shipped. 

Is the 5k timed?
No. Participants can run/walk the course at their own pace. 

How do I track my 5k?
All participants have the ability to log the miles they've completed to their personal fundraising page. Check out our Activity Tracking How To guide to learn more. 

Can I do an activity other than running/walking?
This year the event is virtual so participants can choose to run, walk, bike, row, or any other activity they would like to do for their 5k. 

What is the schedule of events?
Participants will have one full week (November 1-8) to complete their 5k by running, walking, cycling, or whatever activity they select. Participants will also be able to participate in exclusive offerings from our health fair partners each day of the event. Visit the Health Fair Schedule page for the full list of each day's activities.  

What’s included in the Health Fair?
Participants can connect with unique health professionals and businesses each day of the virtual event, including taking part in virtual fitness demonstrations and visiting online interactive exhibits. Visit our Health Fair page to see what partners have joined the event so far. (Partners are added daily so check back often!) 

How do I access the virtual Health Fair offerings?
Participants will receive daily emails during the event with links to attend that day's virtual activities. From November 1-8 the Foundation will also make the schedule with access links available to registrants when they are logged in to their account. (Once logged in go to the 2020 Virtual Health Fair Access page under the Health Fair tab)

How do I access the virtual "swag bag"?
Participants can access the virtual swag bag under the Health Fair tab when they are logged into their account.

What awards will be there this year?
Awardees will be highlighted during the virtual event and awards will be mailed out afterwards.

What if there’s inclement weather?
This event will take place rain or shine. 

How do I become an Event Sponsor?

How can I become a Health Fair Partner?
If you or your company wants to be an exhibitor at the event please email Samantha Puckorius at samantha.puckorius@preventcancer.org.

I don’t want to donate online, what do I do?
Please make your check out to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. In the memo line include "2020 Prevent Cancer Health Fair and 5K Walk/Run" and the name of the participant to credit.
